Soldering Bright Nickel
Please Help! I am trying to solder two bright nickel plated parts together with little success. I have tried water based flux, RMA. If you have ideas on al alternate plating or soldering material please respond! The reason for the bright nickel is of course the appearance but mostly the corrosion resistance properties

Hope it is not too late for this answer. You need medium to low phosphorus (< 9%) bright nickel plating. Also need higher content of lead like 65-35 SnPb solder with acidic flux if that is not the case. If the part gets too hot in the air before solder sticks, oxidation is the problem. Finally, if nothing works, a gold flash plating may be needed before soldering.
