Stripping copper from silver

June 2, 2008

Good Day,

I have 280 combined pounds of silver - 30% and copper 70%. How can I separate these 2 metals? They are in 20 pound ingots. I purchased them at an auction in Houston, Texas 30 + years ago. I forgot that I even had them until I was outside cleaning up the back my shop.

Is there any way that I can accomplish this ? Please advise.

Thanks,

According to your data that is very similar to some japanese copper/silver alloys(shibuichi).Better try to sell them to some art metalworker. Maybe guys from www.reactivemetals.com wanna buy them.
