Effect of high conc. of aluminium sulphate in hardcoat bath

Sir,

We are having a small hard anodizing job shop industry. We wish to know the max concentration permissible in hard anodizing bath, also we wish to know the effect, if the level goes beyond recommended concentration.

Hi, Prakesh. There are many threads on that subject on line here -- try searching with "aluminum OR aluminium) (conc. OR concentration) (anodise OR anodize) (hard OR hardcoat)". Most of the anodizing books go into some depth on the subject too. But you invariably get better answers in this forum if you can phrase the problem in terms of your own situation, including such factors as the alloy you are running, whether this hardcoat is sealed, what problems you suspect you are experiencing which may be related to aluminum content, and any special factors that may be accelerating the aluminum concentration, etc. Good luck.
