Getting galvanize to look rustic

Hi, I am a homeowner in Louisiana, my husband and I are trying to get galvanize to look rustic, because we will have exposed beams , we are wanting to put the galvanize on top of our rafters in order for the rustic galvanize to be seen, If anyone has any idea's or steps to take to achieve this goal, would be greatly appreciated!

If rustic= black or dark gray try next solution(and if galvanized=zinc plated):200 gm iron chloride
1 lit water
Use rubber gloves this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] and safety goggles this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] !Hope it helps and good luck!
