Chrome Plating -- how to determine required thickness
Kindly Assist me that what standard to be used for chrome plating. Where I will get information that how much thickness will required against bla bla pressure and load.

Hi, Ganesh. Truthfully it is a difficult engineering problem because of variable wear conditions and because the chrome will be harder than the substrate. Generally, the best approach would be to find similar examples, both in terms of loading and hardness of the substrate, and to try to proceed from there. You will find that a thickness in the ten thousandths of an inch will be enough for many chrome plating applications on very hard steel, but a thickness in the thousandths of an inch may be required if the substrate is softer, even if wear conditions aren't that aggressive. Good luck.
