Difference SS304 and SS17-4ph
Please let us know the difference SS304 and SS17-4PH.
Which one better to use?
If our factory ususally use SS304 could it be a problem if replace with SS17-4PH?
thanks

Hi, Sam. Different things are different things, so it is always impossible to answer whether one thing can be substituted for the other unless the conditions of use are spilled out. But, briefly, Sandmayer Steels says of 17-4PH: "The grade should not be used at temperatures above 300°C (572°F) or at very low temperatures. It has adequate resistance to atmospheric corrosion or in diluted acids or salts where its corrosion resistance is equivalent to grade 304 or 430." Good luck with it.
