Distortion of Geometrical Dimension at Nitriding Process

March 29, 2008

Hello,
we are doing the liquid nitriding for IC Engine valve.
In liquid nitriding we are finding the problem of geometrical dimensional changes of Engine valve stem cylindricity from 0.005 to 0.015 microns.
carried out of following process parameter:-
Material: SUH11
Tempering temp: 650°C
Nitriding temperature: 550°C

please give your suggestions to don't changes of any geometrical dimensions in nitriding process.
