FDA aluminum coating for caustic wash-down
Hi,
We are designing a vertical form fill and seal machine. the film unwind section has two big aluminum plates to support it. these plates may be subject to a caustic wash-down solution that could erode the aluminum. I have heard of a few options, EN and Magnaplate(HCR) but have found no definite reason to use one over the other. Friction is not an issue - only corrosion and caustic resistance.
Looking for opinions and reasons I would use one over the other in this application.
Cheers and thanks all!

Sort out exactly what your desired properties are and then look at the options. I would surely check to see if the appropriate formulation of powder coat will work.
