Water borne paint spraying - electrostatic?

March 26, 2008

Hi There,

I need to paint 17 custom interior wrought iron stair rails with a water borne acrylic Dunn Edwards paint. I am currently using a conventional air system. I would like advise on upgrading to a better system, maybe electrostatic, help?

Hello Philip,

The ability to electrostatically apply waterborne paint has been around for a number of years - but the special equipment, isolated paint container (prevents electric shock accidents) cost a lot of money > $1200 then there is the cost of the gun. I think Develbis used to offer that type of equipment for sale.
