Are there "Mini Clean Room" Spray Booths?

March 25, 2008

Hi,
We have a job to paint parts for a Vacuum metalliser, the parts are acrylic plastic and we have painted them but are always getting the tiniest inclusion which is seen more once the part is metallised. As this is a small but constant job and not worth us changing our booths is there any small "clean room" booths that work similar to a bead blaster which you put your parts in and the gun, close up the chamber and start a fan with a HEPA filter cleaning the air going in. Then paint the parts using gloves and a window. Once the parts have flashed off remove them? Or have you any further ideas?
Regard,

Sounds like you need to build your own booth and use a large air brush paint gun, or possibly a "dust in" gun that auto painters use for tight spaces.

Hi, don't know if you are still having this problem or not, but I think your problem may be caused by static. You could use an ionising air gun to remove static charges and remove the dust prior to painting. We use these extensively on small plastic parts, car bumpers and many spray booths prior to painting.
