Zinc Mat Coating

Q. I have a technical drawing for metal clip. Our customer wants for surface treatment "zinc mat". Could you please tell me what kind of Zn plating is required?

A. It could mean "zinc material", or "matte zinc (not shiny). Sorry, Bulent -- but please don't guess! Good luck.

A. The simple solution is to ask your customer what he wants, preferably to some well known spec like an AMS or MIL spec.

There is a fair possibility that what he is looking for would be spelled "matte" meaning a semi flat appearance vs a bright shiny one.
