ROHS compliance insisting on trivalent
Dear All
My Company supplies military circular connectors that used to be cadmium plated then tended to move towards zinc or zinc cobalt with green hexavalent chromate . Now we have ROHS compliance insisting on trivalent !
Would appreciate advice on what we should do ?
Have been in connectors for 35 years - all seem rather a 'jobs for the boys' ?
Also should customers mate stainless steel with aluminum ? What is the effect on corrosion vs stainless steel with stainless steel

What you need is a specification from your customer. As far as I know the green/OD finish is not available as a trivalent material. You can try to find a supplier who has a dye material to give you this coloration from a clear trivalent chromate which has the proper corrosion resistance.
