Extracting gold from decorative ceramic plates

Hello. I have several decorative plates that have 22-Karat gold filagree borders. I would like to discard the plates and wonder if it is worth it to try to remove the gold under the glazing. I was also wondering if anyone knew of a way to do this thank you, Elizabeth Clark

It might be worth it now, but there is not a lot of gold there.
You may be able to break the plates and peel the gold off carefully. You may be able to melt it off in a ceramic kiln. You can melt it off with an acetylene torch and an appropriate tip.
Get prices of what you can get for it before you spend a lot of time or money.
