Blackening of aluminum
2000
In the metal finishing guide book there is a formula to blacken aluminum made as follows:
ammonium molybdate 2 oz/gal
ammonium chloride 4 oz/gal
boric acid 1 oz/gal
potassium nitrate 1 oz/gal
tem: 180 F
Did anyone ever use that solution? does it work well? What is each product's function in the solution? which one etch the aluminum/ which one produces the black finish?
What about troubleshooting? Where can we get some more information on this solution?
