Factors affecting ductility of Nickel plated parts
Hi,
We are performing an evaluation on the factors that affect the ductility of the nickel plated parts. After lowering the conc. of Ni by 20%, we find the ductility of the plated parts are 30% lower than before. I believed that it was not attributed by the conc. of Nickel, would it be caused by the lower boric acid conc. in the bath? What are the functions of boric acid in the Nickel Sulfamate bath?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,

Sounds like you need a good reference book. Suggest that you look at "The Properties of Electrodeposited Metals and Alloys" edited by Safranek. It is available thru the AESF.
