Plastic painting and curing

I want to powder coat ( with pure polyester as well as epoxy polyester paint powder ) the

ABS plastic components. It can be powder coated or only liquid painting can be done ?

If powder coated , till what temperature the plastic component can be cured in the oven

for the applied paint powder to get cured / dried to become a hard coating.

what is the pretreatment method suggested for powder coating over ABS / plastic components.?

I don't think powder coat is the best way of doing painting for ABS materials. The curing temperature of powder coat is min 180 deg.C for at least 10-15 mins effective substrate or Metal temperature. But the ABS will withstand only up to 90 C. In this I would recommend to go ahead with Pre Treatment and two component PU painting depends on your finish product requirements.

If you had the finances and volume of items you may be able to PC plastic. We are involved with UV technology but confined our R & D to formulating for MDF as this sector of the coating industry is only second to the PC of all automobiles which is not to far future.
