Want to turn knobs from brass to silver

I am replacing my cabinet knobs from brass to silver. The brass is coming off and underneath them they are silver. Is there a way to remove the brass coloring?

Try acetone this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] Warning! highly Flammable! , Jessica. There are many different technologies for giving a brass color, but one of them is to use a brass colored tinted lacquer on top of nickel plating. If that is how yours were made the acetone should remove the lacquer.
