Fast color reclaim booths

February 12, 2008

We are converting our liquid paint line to powder line and are evaluating which option is the best suited to the business.

Wanted to hear anyone's experience regarding fast change reclaim booths. What minimum time have you seen changing color from red to white.

Which manufacturer booth or equipment performs better than other...

Any kind of help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kaleem

Booths by Nordson or Gema etc are the best in my opinion.
Our Nordson booth Colormax automatic reciprocator booth, (work envelope 7m x 3.2 x 1m, 6 auto guns and two manual guns) can change from one to any another colour in about 15 mins from last item out of the booth to first in, with one man doing it. It might be possible to shave a minute or 3 off that, but 15 mins is comfortable.
That change is also with a full reclaim of all powder in the lines and the booth, all back into the box.

Gema have a similar system, there's not much to choose between them I think.
