Need suggestions for a clear coat over CAD

January 29, 2008

I am looking to clear coat over CAD plated steel tubes that are open to elements and road debris year round. I do not know much about clear coats but am looking for something that can be applied thin and even. Some of these parts have threads and our competitors are doing this process. I am not sure how their threads were adjusted to accommodate for a process that is not distributed perfectly. There seems to be so many types of clears out there and I do not know what clear would work best for my application.

Lacquer? Urethane? Acryclic?

Thanks for any help.

I don't know more about the coating properties you wish.
BUt you can use an EPOXY film. Longer curing time, better optical properties you will have.

You can re-ask

Good luck
