Current bottleneck in anodising industry

Say WHO you are, WHAT you and your company do, & WHY you want to know

Hi, I'm an academic interested in anodising research, hoping to bring academic research in line with industrial needs. Interested to know the current bottleneck in anodising industry worldwide. Some have offered me the issues like testing method for the quality, the mechanical properties of anodised article etc. Do you have any issues regarding anodising yet to be solved?

People have long looked for a robust true white color, so that's one challenge. Making castings and lower grades of aluminum aesthetically pleasing is another challenge. Greater corrosion resistance is always an issue. Simple dyes that will not fade in sunlight are wanted. Anodizing has been the subject of research and extensive industrial practice for decades, so don't expect any of it to be easy :-)

Also, thicker hard anodizing has been a challenge for some time.

A coating with a similar coefficient of thermal expansion to the aluminium base.
Less brittleness in hardcoat, with better edge retention.
Definifely a lower fatigue signature for type II and type III.
