Foundry manganese steel mould coating
Can someone assist me with a refractory filler for a mould coating for manganese steel casting where washed silica sand is used as moulding sand.

I assume you're talking austenitic manganese steel (12-14% Mn). The best refractory is magnesite. Zircon is OK, but not as good as magnesite.
There is quite a science in formulating the correct paint additives to keep the heavy refractory properly suspended in the liquid medium, to give the required pumping and coating properties.
There are at least two major foundry supply companies based in Johannesburg (and who service your country) who make such mould coating paints, and you will get far better results by buying product from such established manufacturers rather than trying to mix your own.
