Looking for Permalloy Electroplating Service
2000
Hi,
I'm a graduate student researcher of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California, Irvine. I'm currently working on a MEMS project to fabricate a microactuator.
I need some help with respect to the plating of permalloy. If someone knows which organization has the facility for permalloy plating, please kindly advise. A facility around Los Angeles area is preferred.
Thanks so much!

Sorry, I don't know a shop in California, but Materials Innovation, 8 Commerce Ave., West Lebanon, New Hampshire is a good bet for high-tech low-volume permalloy plating.

Snagged again, for the thousandth time.
I thought that by 'permalloy electroplating' he meant electroplating OF permalloy onto something else; but he meant electroplating of something else ONTO permalloy.

Thanks so much Ted. What I actually need is, first, electroplating a permalloy thin film onto silicon substrate; second, etch away the undesired portion of the permalloy; third, electroplating copper onto the permalloy layer; forth, etch the copper layer to form a pattern.
I'm still wondering where to find the whole process.

I have found UHV Sputtering of San Jose to be a reliable supplier of electronic grade thin films of permalloy on silicon wafers.
