Preparation and post-treatment steps in Silver Plating
2000
I would like too know how exactly -if possible- to clean a piece before making a silver plating for industrial activity. I would like to know too, if after having make a silver plating, we have to do a post treatment in order to have a better treatment.
Thanks a lot
Hubert.

Hi, Mr. Hubert
How to clean the metal depends on what the metal is.
The Electroplating Engineering Handbook ⇦ this on eBay, AbeBooks, or Amazon [affil links] has detailed instructions for pretreating most any metal.
Silver tarnishes very readily, so you need to discourage the tarnishing with a product like Technic's Tarniban; there are other post treatments available. Good luck.
