Brush finishing of Stainless steel pipes
2007
Hi all,
I wish to be advised on the process of attaining a brush finish on
400/600 Grit Pipes.
1.What grit sandpapers should I use for the same?
2.How are the pipes sanded? Is it horizontally or diagonally along the pipe surface?

Hi, Steve. There are some things where trying it can be more productive than talking about it :-)
The brush lines that you are speaking of are put there by the grit of the sandpaper scratching the pipe. So when you ask whether they are sanded horizontally or diagonally, the answer is the question: "Which way do you want the scratches to run, horizontally or diagonally?" Similarly when you say you want a 400/600 grit finish, I think you are saying you want the finish that results from using 400/600 grit sandpaper.
Do you want one set of pipes brushed, or a factory for brushing a hundred thousand sets? Good luck.
