Painting sinks, ovens, and microwaves
Good-bye 1970. I have an outdated avocado oven--although it does match my avocado sink perfectly. I would love to paint both my oven and microwave (black) to match the remainder of my appliances that are almond. They are both in good working order and I would prefer not to "waste" them. I haven't been able to find a paint that is certifiably safe for ovens and I'm also worried about painting a plastic microwave. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can paint the plastic microwave with paints which are intended for plastics. Krylon Fusion

eBay
or
Amazon [affil links]
is one. You can paint the sink with two-part epoxy paint, and it will last a while, maybe a year or two.
The oven - nope. There aren't any paints which will withstand the heat that leaks around the doors...at least none which are available to retail purchasers.
Then again, maybe avacado will come back "in" again. :-)
