Any drawbacks switching parts from Aluminized to G90 Galvanized Sheet metal?

2007

I am in the commercial, industrial computer enclosure MFG business. We normally use Aluminum or Cold rolled steel and then post plate and paint. We have one design that is mostly painted except for a few spots so we have been making it out of Aluminized Steel to avoid the post plats process. Our supplier says aluminized scratches easily and wants to switch to G-90 Galvanized. Are there any reasons why that would be a problem?
RoHS compliance is needed BTW.
Thanks

How is the part connected to other items ? G90 may be more difficult to weld. If no welding is involved, no problem.
You may need to use G90U rather than G90, in order to meet UL requirements for electrical components ?

G90 is a heavy coating. Much greater than G60. The galvanize finish may be rougher than what you are used to with an aluminized finish. Some end users complain about this.

You may want to discuss the "typical" galvanize appearance. Keep in mind, it may vary from slightly from different vendors or coating lines. All galvanize processes are NOT identical.
