Which is better for Chrome Plating, Zinc Die Cast or Aluminum Die Cast

I am wondering which material, Zinc Die Cast or Aluminum Die Cast, Chrome Plating would bound and adapt to better.

My vote is zinc because zinc can be directly electroplated whereas aluminum requires an immersion plating process (zincating).

It's possible to do beautiful and durable chrome plating on either. Aluminum is stronger and lighter; zinc is cheaper.
