Removing phosphating from the workpiece

We encoutner a problem of phosphated job with our inspection stage. Now the critical inspection operation is MPI needed for this job. We have to remove the phosphating in order to get the better MPI results. Could you please advice as what should be best solution. Note that the work piece has VAM threads / machined steps / ring grooves, etc.

Chandra,

The usual method for removing phosphate is by lightly alumina blasting the surface with a reasonably fine grade of alumina (such as 180/220 grade or finer). It may cause some dimensional change so be careful how you do it.

Dear,

Use a mixture of Phosphoric acid based strippers, they can easily solve your problem, more over it is faster and cheaper
