It's "Iridite" (single 'r'), Nikki, a Macdermid trade name for proprietary chromate conversion coatings on zinc plating. You need to zinc electroplate the steel before you can Iridite it.

To add to what Ted said, Iridite is a trade name for a line of chromate conversion coatings. Yellow Iridite is sometimes used as a general name for yellow conversion coatings on a variety of substrates (zinc, cadmium, aluminum, etc). Steel is not one of these.
