Nickel Fluoborate solution making

I am trying to find out how to make a Nickel fluoborate solution. I have fluoboric acid in my lab but can't find the form of Nickel compound to use to make the Nickel fluoborate solution to use in Ni plating. I see the Ni fluoborate solution with 100 g/l Ni being advertised for sale. Tried to digest NiO powder and Ni metal powder in fluoboric acid solution to no avail.

React the fluoroboric acid with nickel carbonate, but be very careful - it will produce lots of carbon dioxide and effervesce. Also be very careful with nickel carbonate - it has been accused of being carcinogenic. Once the fluoroboric caid has been depleted to form nickel flouroborate, the effervescence will stop.

Something else just in case you will try to plate with home brew solutions. Industrial or commercial grades of nickel salts and acids may contain some amount of impurities. Thus, once prepared, the solution will have to be purified before plating. A good plating book or manual will describe how.
