Protecting polished steel motorcycle gas tank from corrosion
I recently bought an older motorcycle to restore. I stripped the tank of its paint and polished it to a pretty nice shine. I would like suggestion on what I could do to protect the tank, now that it will easily susceptible to rust and corrosion. is clear coating an option? I have removed the rust and refinished the inside of the tank with a coating.please give me all the suggestions you can. Thank you!

Steel rusts and corrodes, Neal, and I think a clear coat is unlikely to offer enough protection in an exterior application on bare steel. If you want a bright look you would need to send the tank out for nickel-chrome plating.
