Change refrigerator color from yellow to black

I have a two year old Kenmore fridge in Almond with a textured surface. I'd like to change to Black. The handles on the fridge and freezer would need to be changed as well, since this is such a drastic change. Is it even worth it, or will it cost just as much to buy a new fridge?

We bought a new fridge as few years ago, white, because out kitchen is white. The new fridge, it turns out, was REALLY white, and the kitchen is off-white, and it looked awful.

I painted it to match the kitchen, and it's holding up fine.

1. Remove all the trim if possible.

2. Lightly sand the surface, or scuff it with abrasive pads.

3. Wipe it down with mineral spirits this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] .

4. Paint it with a roller and good quality oil-based gloss enamel. I used Rust-Oleum. Looks just like a factory job. The textured surface makes it easy.

I am wondering how this worked out for you. I want to do the same thing. It is the seals, handles, and ice window that worry me. What did you do to them?
