MSDS for hardcoat anodized parts?

We are Hardcoat anodizers in Sydney Australia. A customers that polishes a finished component requires an MSDS requested by their machinist. I have not come across this before.

The components are hard anodized and sealed in a proprietary Ni based mid temp sealer. Is there anybody that has such a document or knows where I can find one.

Chemical suppliers furnish USA OSHA form 20 Material Safety Data Sheets for their products like: cleaners, etches, deox, sulfuric acid, dyes, seals. The U.S. Government does not yet require a safety data sheet on the finished hard oxidized surface on metal parts.

I would suggest pulling a generic aluminum oxide MSDS off the web, and sending it along with the Seal MSDS to your customer. It is reasonable to expect that your customer's polishing operation could create air-borne particulates consisting of the seal and anodize.

If I had a customer who requested an MSDS on hardcoat anodize, especially if it's someone knowingly polishing the hardcoat and worried about exposure from such, I'd be supplying an MSDS for aluminum oxide as that is the only potential exposure.
