How to calculate the cost of plating for jewelry

I just start a jewelry business, and I have hard time to calculate what my plating cost.

Such as Rhodium plating and Gold plating,

In most plating applications the cost of labor overrides everything else; but in precious metal plating the cost of the material can be quite significant.

Taking these two elements into account, your plating costs will vary greatly depending on volume and upon gold plating thickness. A realistic way to approach the project might be to have some discussions with shops that specialize in electroplating of jewelry like Metal Arts Specialties and Red Sky Plating [a finishing.com supporting advertiser].
