The effect of use of Silicon Bronze Wire for Welding on painting

Q. We are improving our welding process by adding silicone [sic.] bronze to it.

After buffing we will be painting metal parts at our liquid painting.

Wish to know if use of silicone [sic.] bronze (silicone is a buzz word in painting with reference to fish eyes) can create any problems to wash, bath contamination or any other issues.

A detailed reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

A. Silicon and silicone are very different things which you may be confusing because of the similarity in their spelling, Kaleem. I very strongly doubt that there is any silicone in your brazing wire. It is not a threat to your painting operations.

Before painting or plating, all oils, greases, and dirts must be removed from the metal surfaces; the problem with silicone is that it is nearly impossible to remove.

A. Silicon bronze is not a welding wire.
It is a "Brazing wire"
Tell me about the job, base metal, coating, etc.
Much more detail needed!
