sulfuric anodizing within food applications

I need to circulate fresh drinking water through a water cooled aluminium heatsink (for an electronic application)in a marine installation. I intend to use type II or III hardcoat sulfuric anodizing to isolate the aluminium from the water. Does anybody know whether thus type of anodizing is OK within "food" type applications, are there any known approvals, and are there any lifetime specs (due to wear & tear) for this type of anodizing?

In today's "world economy" it may be difficult to list all of the approvals that may be necessary in all of the countries of the world and all of the activist cities and regions like America's beloved California :-)

But the short answer is that anodized aluminum is "generally recognized as safe". Type III is used on Calphalon and other dark gray pots & pans, and Type II is used on the ubiquitous "aluminum pots" that have been with us for decades.

Sorry, I don't personally know how to predict the anticipated life in flowing water, but hopefully another reader will. Good luck.
