How do I patina a faux brass bed?

Hi,
I recently bought a brass-looking daybed. Some of the paint has worn off and it's silver underneath the gold paint. How can I treat the bed to look like a patina brass? can I use the same chemicals as you would on real brass?

No, because it is paint and not metal. You can try assorted spray cans of several colors to get the faux finish, but it will take luck or skill to get it really good. The nice part is that you can strip all of the paint off and repaint it with a nice brass paint.
