Does PVC paint exist?

I am looking for a liquid paint that the resin is PVC. Has any one experience using a clear PVC coat on Stainless Steel.

I think you could call "air dry plastisol" paint. I haven't seen it in clear though.

Yes they exist, they are called plastisols, or organisols. You'll need a primer to get adhesion.

Hi Moshe,

As others have said, yes, there are plastisols BUT they are coloured because ordinary PVC monomer is attacked easily by U.V. ... but that 'colouring' applies to most other plastics, too .... except for acrylics.

Which, dear Sir, is why ordinary PVC sheet plus pipe and fittings are coloured normally grey.

You may rightfully say that there's a mountain of clear PVC tubing available ... yup, youse is rite ... but for outdoors, pigment it, s.v.p.

Going by memory, the first PVCs were red in Germany, Blue in France, White in Italy and Green in the UK.... and Trovidur still can provide a red PVC pipe !

PVC is my favourite plastic and when armoured with fibrglass, you have a dual laminate ... which was invented in Canada back in the early 60's.

End of Sermon.
