How can I plate out Iron Contamination from Hard Chromium Plating Bath

I'm facing problem of frequent problem of iron contamination in my hard chromium plating solution, which can not be solved due to some design & product limitations. Is there any method other than Ion exchange to plate out iron from such solution? If if is possible , what must be operating conditions for such process.

How far the iron contamination leads to poor efficiency of hard chromium solution? In such cases, what must be the current density limits to limit iron co-deposition with chrome?

Dummy does not remove much iron from a hex chrome bath. Look into porous pot technology. it is a great answer. Do a search of this site for porous pot and then hit the internet for a vendor, preferably in your country. Ion exchange is too expensive.

Dear Friend,

You cannot electrolyse iron.

If possible just dilute the bath to the permissible limits of iron. Maybe one third or one fourth.
That is simple.
