Weathering brass screws in a hurry
I have a bag of brass screws that will be used to screw into copper on roofing, trim, gutters, etc. We are needing them to blend in a bit better. My dilemma is that the construction company needs me to get this done by Monday which is 3 days. I have put them sitting in Muriatic acid for a day now and all that I see is a light yellow tint they have take, kinda like sulfur....I need them to turn more of a blackish/bronzish color if possible. PLease help me! I am desperate for any ideas you may have.
Thanks,

Hello Heidi. liver of sulfur ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] will significantly darken brass.
This public forum isn't the right resource when a problem is urgent though; the best responses may come weeks or years from now :-)

Try a little ferric nitrate. I understand that produces a nice brown on brass.
