Cleaning oxidized zinc intaglio plates

I bought some zinc plates for a reduced price for my printmaking studio. They are oxidized and I would like to know how to clean them. The seller suggested TSP (trisodium phosphate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ) and I'm willing to try cleaning one as a test but it would be nice if there's someone out there who knows for sure. Thanks so much.

You can use 5% sulfuric acid(or in 5% EDTA,pH7),after treatment rinse it well(for best results first rinse it in 5% sodium bicarbonate solution(baking soda [in bulk on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ), then in water). Hope it helps and good luck!
