Adequate thickness and soundness of any precious metal plate will do. Gold, platinum, rhodium, palladium, etc. Problem is always compromise between cost and quality. G. Marrrufo-Mexico

Hi Daniel,

The question you posted leaves more questions to be asked as it is too general.

You may be able to use a 4 layer Ni/Cr finish or perhaps a Zn-Ni alloy with passivate and sealer.

But it depends what the components are made from, how you want the piece to look after plating and what kind of corrosion failure you are looking at. For example is this a plastic or steel component, does it need to be bright when plated.

If you give us more information we may be able to help more.
