Paint Line Manning

I am trying to establish a spreadsheet to plan manpower at powder coating line. Example, # of Loaders, Pre-loaders, Painters and Unloaders at different line speeds.
Has anyone done sone work in this area and can provide guidance?

I have multiple parts that are hanged at 6", 12", 24" centre, parts on racks, approx. 30 color changes including black done in automatic booth with minor touch up on some parts. Performance is evaluated based on Total Line Inches Painted (Example, if we are running at 16 fpm, we should be painting 11520 line inches per hour, based on what are the line inches of individual parts, we will be getting the total parts painted. As an average on a eight person line we paint approximately 7000 parts every day)

Any advise is greatly appreciated. I have prepared something but wanted to get an input how others in the industry do it.

Thanks,

The Powder Coat Institute has some very good books that cover everything you are trying to find, and might be able to give you a few new ideas too. Good Luck.
