"Purple Stuff" streaked my alloy rims
My son was cleaning my alloy chrome rims. And he accidentally sprayed "purple stuff" on them and now they are streaked and spotted. How can I reverse it?

James,
Apparently the "purple stuff" was of an alkaline base. I learned my lesson years ago when I tried using oven cleaner
⇦this on
eBay or
Amazon [affil links] to clean aluminum alloy rims. I went to the auto parts store and bought a polish made for aluminum alloy rims. It took me almost a full day working on them, but they looked good again. That was in 1980, formulations of polishes have improved lately. Good Luck!

Just an addition to previous comment. I assumed you meant aluminum alloy rims. I don't know if there is such a thing as chrome alloy rims. Chrome plated, yes.
