Aluminum protectant for a polished aircraft
I am about finished building my aluminum airplane, and can't bare the thought of painting it, when polished aluminum will look so fabulous. I of course want to maintain the look with a minimum of effort. My guess is that it is too large to dip for clear anodizing, so what other alternative is there, that will keep it looking new, and not yellow? Does clear powdercoating work, and is it heavy?

As coating try Everbrite [a finishing.com supporting advertiser], or better some special aircraft finish. Brush anodizing is also good option, or good conversion coating/ clear type/. Hope it helps and good luck!

HI PAT,

I HAVE A PRODUCT THATS RIGHT DOWN YOUR ALLEY. Sharkhide
⇦ this on
eBay
or
Amazon [affil links] METAL PROTECTANT HAS BEEN USED FOR YEARS ON JUST THE VERY PROJECT YOUR WORKING ON. WE'VE USED IT ON AIRCRAFT AS WELL AS AIRSTREAM AND ARGOSSY TRAILERS. ONCE YOU FINISH THE POLISHING, APPLY A COUPLE COATS OF SHARKHIDE AND IT WILL MAINTAIN THAT FINISH FOR YEARS. WHEN IT'S TIME TO RE APPLY, JUST WIPE A NEW COAT ON.
