Aluminum anode in seawater
I have an application where aluminum wire is used to inject DC current into seawater. As I understand this causes formation of anodic oxide. Further increase of the voltage will cause voltage breakdown. I am looking for information on the breakdown voltage in seawater.

Aluminium is very commonly used to protect steel structures in seawater. Visit any shipyard and see the plates of unpainted metal (Al) attached to the bottoms of boats.
If you google "sacrificial anode" you will find plenty of information
