Aging Tinplate
I am trying to age T2 tinplate from the factory shine to a darker pewter-like colour. I have soaked the panels in 5% acetic acid ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ( vinegar ⇦in bulk on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ) but this doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have had customers who use a two step process of caustic - then rinse - then use "gun barrel bluing"
