Copper plating small steel parts

My name is Jeff Halvorson. I work at an aircraft engine repair facility. We service some pretty old birds, WWII vintage. I deal with propeller governors. The repair parts are getting hard to come by. An approved repair on certain small parts is to copper plate them. These parts are about 1/2" dia. and less than 2" long. the cost of having them sent out is cause to condemn the whole accessory. Any tips for a very small copper plating project?

Any help would keep these vintage birds in the air a little longer

This is a good candidate for brush plating. There are some that advertise in the vendors section. Liquid Development Corporation is my preference for quality at an affordable price.

Brush plating is very, very operator sensitive. Plan on going to a free tuition company school before you try.

You probably need to clear this with your FAA rep and have it put on your license before you do any.

Note-- This will make you a conditionally exempt small quantity generator, but you are probably larger than that already from your cleaning waste.
