Removal of Silica using chemical treatment

How to reduce the silica from 300 mg/l to 35 mg/l by chemical treatment. Whether chemicals like Calcium Hydroxide and Magnesium can be used or any other better chemicals are available. After Silica removal the water(TDS-1500) will be passed through RO plant.

If the SiO2 concentration is actually 300 mg/L, then you have both colloidal and soluble silica present. Ultrafiltration would probably remove half of the silica.

Silica can be removed by many methods, but not as easily as you would like. Hot lime softening with dolomitic lime will be effective. However, it can take 4-8 mg/L of Magnesium to remove 1 mg/L of Silica. and higher temperatures are more effective.
