Black coated brass nuts
2007
We manufacture switch seals that have brass nuts overmolded with silicone rubber. The brass inserts have to be black in color. The
"black zinc" coating discolors having been exposed to 350 °F
(molten rubber). "Black oxide" does not seem like a viable option due to economic constraints. Can you advise on any other method of making these inserts black as applicable to our process?
Thank you in advance

Try black chrome, or ammonium/copper carbonate ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] black patina for brass, or copper nitrate ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] black (baked). Hope it helps and good luck!
